Srinagar, Dec 25 (KNO): Directorate of School Education Kashmir (DSEK) has granted permission to recognised private schools to conduct remedial classes during winter vacation.
According to an order, a copy of which lies with news agency—Kashmir News Observer (KNO), DESK stated that the remedial class work shall be conducted between 11 am to 3 pm only.
The directorate said that the applications from heads of recognised private educational institutions of Kashmir division were pouring in for grant of permission to start remedial teaching classes in their respective schools during vacations.
“On perusal of these representations it has been found that they intend to provide remedial classes to students due to the fact that the working days in Kashmir Division are very less due to prolonged vacations, climatic constraints, administrative closure directives and other unavoidable circumstances,” it reads.
DESK clarified that the remedial and supplementary teaching is carried out with prior consent of the parents and should be on a voluntary basis.
It also said that no extra fee is charged from the students.
“There should be appropriate heating arrangement in the classrooms.”—(KNO)
